Young with Dentures Blog#1

I already make videos documenting my journey with dentures, but my true love is writing, so that being said, I suppose it was a more natural move to bein a blog about my journey! So this being blog #1, it seems fitting that I let you know a little more about me! I am 33 years old, with 4 kids, and a loving husband. I imagine the obvious questionyou are asking yourself is: "Why did you have to get dentures at 33 years old?" Well, partly bad genetics, part just not taking god enough care of them. For starters, everyone in my family has gotten dentures by their 40s, so I suppose that I always considered them to be inevitable. But aside from genetics, I just never was the kid who enjoyed brushing 3 times a day.I would go a day, sometimes two or 3 without brushing. And with that, add a obsessive relationship with soda. Pop is my drink of choice, always has been and it is the only beverage that I drink (aside from a glass of juice every now and then). I always wanted a perfect, white smile, and so every year I forked out thousands of dollars to keep my teeth maintenanced. $900 root canals every few months or $400 fillings. In all, I spent over $10,000 of my own money, that couldve been spent on so many thoer things, which is what ultimately led me to begin considering dentures. It was a long process of thinking, because at first I was mortified by the idea. But years of toothaches, plus the money factor eventually helped me decide. I began having my dentist pull the teeth that were hurting, but not necessary visible, so that when I got the dentures there would be less teeth to pull. My trusted dentist charges over $3,000 for a full set of dentures which at the time was out of my price range, so I decided to go with an "affordable same day denture" clinic that was about 45 minutes from where I live. The day of my procedure, I still had 18 teeth left to be extracted and I was absolutely terrified to have a stranger working on me. Going to the dentist is a somewhat scary experience anyway, let alone when you know that you are about to get dozens of shots and who knows what else :( The dentist was very nice, comforting, and it made things much easier. After extracting all of my teeth, they quickly fitted in my temporary dentures, and sent me on my way.Now I will go into the details later, but when I first saw my new smile, it was a mixture of emotions.Of course, it was beautiful, much more than the smile I had before that was crooked, yellow, missing teeth. But the new teeth were bigger, bulkier, I couldnt talk. It was a difficult journey at first, Ive had my teeth for almost 6 months now, though, and I couldnt be more happier, or feel more sexy! Join me, as I blog ebvery detail from the surgery, to the present.I will go over topics like "dentures and eating" "to use glue or not to use glue" dentures and your sexlife" and more!Posted below are two photos of me, the one where I am not smiling is a before denture pic.I NEVER showed my teeth, and will show you several examples later. The 2nd picture was taken the very day I got my new dentures, it is the first open smile picture zi have taken since I was a small child! Thank you for reading, and I will post again soon
